Media Mission Program:
For those who will be part of the Media Missions program, the following is a list of the areas you will cover:
. Learning to use your equipment to your advantage
. Documenting the Mission Field
. Identifying your story and angle
. Capturing your story: Deciphering what to disclose
. How to tell a good story: Finding the heartbeat
. Interviewing techniques
. Workshops, discussions and seminars
You'll then be asked to apply these skills to some of the mission areas listed below:
Mission Responsibilities:
This mission internship is designed to give you real exposure to ministry outreach and service. This opportunity allows you to experience some of the things you hear about in Church and read in the scriptures.
. Minister to the disadvantaged
. Assist and minister to women in the red light district
. Feed the homeless
. Care for orphan
. Visit prisoners
. Cook for widows
. Witness life changing testimonies
. Worship with the local Christians
. Lead Worship at a local church/play in the church band
. Sing in a choir or be a part of an open air revival team
. Live among the locals for 3 days [Can you do it?]
. Shop and haggle for the best bargains in the local market
. Help bring people to the Lord
. Help the sick in hospitals/clinics
. Minister to orphaned children and show them love
. Help at mission construction sites
. Minister to lepers [not just a visit]
. Preach the Gospel to the unsaved
. Help rescue and minister to the children of the streets
. Experience the local culture
. Clean, bathe & dress babies
. Read and tell bedtime stories to the orphaned children
. Assist local pastors in villages/town
. Work with a mobile medical unit in a rural area
. Hand Wash clothes with the local people
. Help to cook for the community
. Share scripture and bring comfort to the sick
. Lay hands on and pray for the sick
. Offer your friendship to a beggar by sitting and talking with them
. Pray over poor neighborhoods and cities
. Visit and pray over the dying
. Experience the sight, smell and sounds of the town/city/village!
Though the list is long and you will have the opportunity to take part in many areas, there is no guarantee of which area you will be assigned to until you arrive and don't worry, you won't be expected to complete them all.
