PRE TRAVEL PREP

photo

There are two main steps that will take place before you head out on your missions trip with us. The first is that you will be given your pre-orientation information checklist and the second is that if you are traveling as an individual(s) you will be mailed your Orientation documents. If you are traveling as a group you will be expected to attend an Orientation briefing with your group/organization before you leave.

Pre-Orientation Information:

The following brief contains relevant information on the steps to be taken prior to your mission trip orientation.

1) You should have confirmed that you are listed as a participant on the mission trip in question.
2) You should have received confirmation of the exact date of your Mission Internship Orientation day.
3) You should have received confirmation of the exact dates of your Mission Internship departure, arrival and duration.
4) You should have made inquires on flight costs with your local travel agency or confirm your booking with your church/group/organization.
5) You should have made a decision on how you will fundraise for your trip and be pursuing it now!
6) You should have paid your $250.00 deposit at this stage, if not you should do so now!
7) You should have made a decision as an individual or as a group on which community gift you can take to the local people.
(i.e. M.A.P Medical supply box, Reading glasses, Daily vitamins etc ) Go to – JHM Internships - Community Gift for further information.
8) You will need to obtain a visa for the country you are visiting, so you will either need to tender your passport to the head of Missions in your group/establishment or forward it yourself to the relevant country visa and immigration office as soon as possible.
9) There are different vaccination requirements for traveling to different parts of the world, hence we strongly advise that you check with your local doctor and/or relevant authorities in your country for the latest information on which vaccinations you should have or not have.
10) You should have checked on the climate of the country you are going to in order to better plan the clothing and provisions to take with you.
